UBTEB briefs Area Coordinators ahead of the start of Nov/Dec 2017 examinations
A total of 132 Area Coordinators have been appointed and briefed by UBTEB officials today 1st November, 2017 at UBTEB Secretariat. The appointment of the Area Coordinators is in line with the UBTEB’s rules on the conduct of competence based assessment. Under the rules, the Area coordinators play a number of roles including appointment of centre Supervisors and Examination supervisors, issuing and receiving of examinations materials at the police stations among other roles. “You are appointed to perform key function in the conduct of examination on behalf of the Board” Dr.Nahamya Wilfred Deputy Executive Secretary –Examinations Management told the Area Coordinators.
The Board will be conducting the 13th examination series since its inception in 2011 in the whole country. The examinations will be done in two phases; with phase one including Uganda Community Polytechnic Certificate and National certificates (Vocational and Technical). Mr. Oyesigye Onesmus, UBTEB’s executive Secretary informed the Area Coordinators to ensure maximum observance of the rules and regulations of the Board in order to ensure that there is successful conduct of examinations. He further urged them to popularize the recent reforms in the BTVET subsector including the merger of examinations boards and establishment of TVET Council. This was in response to one of the participants who asked about the mismatch in entry requirements for certificate prgrammes.
Phase one of the examinations of UBTEB will start on 10th November 2017 with the briefing of all candidates in the country and end on 25th November 2017.
