Dr. Nahamya Karukuza Wilfred
Dr. Nahamya is a professional Teacher/Examiner in a business field of Economics. He holds a Bachelor of Arts with Education (Economics Major), a Master of Arts in Economic Policy and Planning and a PhD in Economics. In addition he possesses other extra-mural training in project Monitoring and Evaluation, Research, Computer Application packages among others. Dr. Nahamya is seasoned Administrator and Manager with over twenty years of working experience in educational institutions including direct management of examinations for over ten years.
He is currently holding the position of UBTEB Deputy Executive Secretary Examination Management at UBTEB and heads the technical wing of the Board of the Directorate of examinations. He previously worked at the Board as a Senior Research &Policy Development Officer since the beginning of 2014. Before joining UBTEB, Dr. Nahamya was a Lecturer at Kyambogo University Department of Economics & Statistics, Head of Department of the same department from 2001 to 2011, Chairperson of Senate Examination Committee and Member of Kyambogo University Council for five years among other many responsibilities.
Dr. Nahamya is also an External examiner for universities, is serving as a member of Senate with Uganda Management Institute and several other community based Boards. He has attended several National and International Conferences with emphasis to research and assessment and recent among these are the Singapore May 2014 Conference of International Association of Education Assessment (IAEA), the June 2014 African Regional Conference for International Vocational Education and Training Association (IVETA) in Uganda and the IVETA Annual Conference August 2014 Helsinki-St. Petersburg in Finland and Russia and the benchmarking visits to the Mauritius examinations syndicate and Qualification Authority.
Dr. Nahamya as Deputy Executive Secretary of UBTEB has the major role of overseeing that the Boards examinations are CBET oriented and set/administered according to the set rules and regulations so as to produce graduates demanded by the world of work.
