Mr. Kawanguzi Geoffrey (CPA)
Fourteen (14) years of progressive experience in accounting, finance and Administration and auditing gained from government agencies and a number of Non-government organizations that he has worked with at different levels. Is experienced in designing internal controls and system development, managing and evaluating internal mechanisms and development programmes; conducting research and product development; institutional and programme evaluations; and drawing and implementing feasibility studies and strategic plans. He has written research papers on internal controls in, micro finance, financial management, good governance and accountability. He has worked widely in development programmes ranging from a development credit programme. He has a background in project implementation, institutional assessments and rural development strategies. He is very conversant with the Donor Fund accounting and reporting, he has worked under number development projects such UNFPA, SIDA, UNICEF, USAID, DANIDA (Hugo).
He is currently working with Uganda Business and Technical Examination as Deputy Executive Secretary- Finance, Human Resource & Administration. Prior he served as Senior Accountant with Uganda Board Export Promotion Board (UEPB) where he was in charge of Planning, budgeting and final accounts.
Before, he was serving as a Senior Accountant for the Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU). Formerly the family planning Association of Uganda (FPAU) is a member of the international Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), the world’s largest sexual and reproductive health body. He was in charge of the following Development projects the United Nations Population Fund 7th country Program, Male Involvement Learning Centre Project funded by Swedish International Development Agency(SIDA), “ United for a Healthy Tomorrow Project” funded by The Netherlands Government- Ministry of Foreign Affairs Through RUTGERS WPF, Reaching the hard to Reach project funded by Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Through Danish Family Planning Association, Community based HIV /AIDS funded by USAID and Cervical Cancer Screening & Treatment Project Funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Civil Society Funds (CSF).
He began his professional career with Uganda Cooperative Alliance Limited (UCA) as an Accountant under the project of Empowering Farmers through Agribusiness and Financial Services (EFTAF) project being implemented in 5 regions in Uganda funded by the Swedish cooperative Centre (SCC) with the objective of establishing safe, sound and sustainable SACCOS.
He is Certified Public Accountant of Uganda (CPA-U), and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance and Accounting option) from Islamic University in Uganda and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) of Makerere University Kampala. He has also pursued a number of Certificates in Micro Finance Training and participated in number of technical short training and continuous development professional workshops and Seminar.
