As part of implementing the TVET reforms in accordance with the TVTE policy 2019, the Board is in its final stages of developing assessment syllabi for various National and Vocational Diploma programs to be rolled out in the next academic year 2022/2023. The modularization of the academic programs is done in accordance with the approved curriculum by the mandated bodies; National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) and National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
The Board is pleased to have developed assessment syllabi for all Diploma programs. "Working with the experts from the industry and technical staff from training institutions, the Board will be able to release the syllabi for use alongside the curricula in place" Oyesigye Onesmus (CPA), Executive Secretary stated during the workshop at Public Health Nurses College at Kyambogo on 29th August 2022. The Board has finalized the assessment syllabi for Diploma in Business and Humanities and is currently developing assessment syllabi for National Technical and Vocational Diploma programs. The Board rolled out modular assessment syllabi for UCPC and 13 National Certificate-Technical programs.
The Board successfully conducted the first modular programs during the July-August 2022 examinations series across the country. The feedback and testimonies from the first modular assessment are a true reflection of the government's agenda to address the critical skills gap in a more flexible and convenient manner using sustainable approaches in the TVET delivery and assessment.
