UBTEB Executive Secretary Officially Opens Marking Centers for January 2025

On January 14, 2025, the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) reached another milestone as the Executive Secretary, Onesmus Oyesigye (CPA), officially opened the marking centers for the January 2025 examination session. This exercise commenced on 6th January 2025 and shall end on 29th January 2025.
The opening ceremony, held at the designated marking centers in Kampala, brought together examiners and UBTEB staff. The event symbolized UBTEB’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accuracy, and the delivery of credible examination results for the TVET sector.
In his remarks, Mr. Oyesigye commended the examiners for their professionalism and dedication. He underscored the importance of integrity in the marking process, emphasizing that every script represents the hard work and aspirations of students across Uganda. “Our role as UBTEB is to ensure that every learner is assessed fairly and that the results reflect their true performance. This responsibility rests heavily on the shoulders of our esteemed examiners,” Mr. Oyesigye stated.
During the marking exercise, he urged the examiners to adhere to UBTEB’s high standards and guidelines. This, he noted, is pivotal in maintaining the credibility of UBTEB qualifications and reinforcing trust among stakeholders. As part of UBTEB’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations, Mr. Oyesigye highlighted the integration of technology in the various examination processes. With advancements in the results management systems, UBTEB continues to streamline the efficiency of executing multiple work processes to boost the quality of assessments. The Executive Secretary reiterated that embracing innovation would enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and security of the examinations’ process, ensuring timely delivery of results.
Recognizing the dedication required for this critical task, UBTEB has taken steps to provide a conducive working environment for examiners and continuous professional development for Examiners. The Executive Secretary reassured examiners that their welfare remains a top priority, further motivating them to deliver their best.
He informed the Examiners that the marking exercise is a collaborative effort involving different professional examiners from various institutions nationwide. It underscores UBTEB’s commitment to inclusivity and leveraging expertise from diverse disciplines to uphold the quality of its assessments.
Through the collective effort of examiners, staff, and stakeholders, UBTEB is determined to deliver results that inspire confidence and uphold the standards of Uganda’s TVET sector” Oyesigye stated.
The opening of the marking centers on January 14, 2025, sets the tone for a year focused on success and excellence. With this crucial phase underway, UBTEB remains committed to delivering reliable, high-quality assessments that empower Uganda’s future workforce.
